Monitoring Stations

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) maintains a website with technical information on all of the monitoring stations operated throughout the state, including our county.

The map below can be viewed full screen by clicking the brackets in the far right of the gray bar. The polygons are associated with the various monitoring stations and you can see descriptions of the included communities by clicking on each polygon. You can see the name of the monitoring stations by clicking the dark pink indicator dots.

2023 Ambient Air Monitoring Network Plan

The 2023 Ambient Air Monitoring Network Plan is an annual examination and evaluation of the APCD's network of air pollution monitoring stations. The annual review of the state and local air monitoring stations network is required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulation, Part 58.10. Public comment on the 2023 plan will be accepted until midnight, June 30, 2023. This plan, along with any public comments received will be submitted to the EPA on July 3, 2023.

To provide comments on the plan you can email David Cardiel at dacardiel@co.slo.ca.us or mail comments to 3433 Roberto Court, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.

Network Assessment

The network assessment is a more detailed examination and assessment of the more technical aspects of the monitoring program performed every five years. SLO County APCD completed the most recent Network Assessment in 2020.
