Wood Burning Appliance Change-out Incentive Program

Program Elements

This is a first-come, first-serve program, with the $250 incentive reserved through a voucher system. Eligible participants include owners of uncertified wood burning appliances and open hearth fireplaces living within San Luis Obispo County. See the links below for a copy of the program guidelines and application.

Five easy steps for participating in the program

1. Submit Application to the Air District, via mail or hand delivery, no faxes or emails;

2. Air District reviews and approves the Application and issues a valid Voucher;

3. Applicant purchases wood burning appliance within 21 days of receiving Voucher and returns sales receipt and Purchase Agreement Form to the Air District;

4. Applicant installs wood burning appliance and returns the Change-Out Certification Form to the Air District; and,

5. The Air District issues a $250 incentive check within 45 days.
