The APCD Board of Directors held a special meeting on Thursday, September 5 at 9:00 am in the Board of Supervisors Chambers. This meeting was held to discuss some of the items that were on the cancelled July meeting agenda, including the APCD's 2013/2014 budget.
The San Luis Obispo County's draft Local Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available for public review and comment. The SLO County Planning Commission will hold a study session on this topic at their August 22 meeting. Comments on the plan are due by September 6. More »
A summary of the Air Pollution Control District's Proposed FY 2012-2013 Budget is available for public review at their office, located at 3433 Roberto Court, San Luis Obispo, California, beginning April 20, 2012 (weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m). The budget request of $4,387,958 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-2013 represents a 8% decrease to the current budget for FY 2011-2012. Copies of the budget summary and the schedule of District fees will also be available for review at the public libraries in Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Morro Bay, Nipomo, Paso Robles, and San Luis Obispo during their normal business hours.

As of November 14, 2011, burn season has been officially declared open. The APCD has made the following changes to the Agricultural and Backyard Burn Permit Program.
All burning requires a permit from the APCD prior to conducting the burn. More »
UPDATE: The 2011-2012 Back Yard Burn Season ended April 30, 2012. 2012-2013 Back Yard Burn Season should begin mid-November.
At the November 16, 2011 meeting the APCD Board approved the Coastal Dunes Dust Control Rule 1001 to require implementation of dust control measures on coastal dunes where vehicle activity occurs.
The APCD released the Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the environmental evaluation for ConocoPhillips proposed project to increase the throughput by 12.5% at their refinery on the Nipomo Mesa. A Public Scoping Meeting was held on Wednesday, October 22, 2011 at the South County Regional Center.
