Engine Emission Reduction Incentive Program - Open

The APCD’s Engine Emission Reduction Incentive Program (EERIP) provides funding to help pay for projects that reduce heavy-duty diesel engine emissions prior to any regulatory requirement. Projects can receive up to $150,000 per applicant, per calendar year under this incentive program as long as the project remains within the current cost effectiveness limits of the program.
Additional funding for EERIP was approved by the APCD Board on January 25, 2017. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and projects will be funded first-come, first-served based on the date the application is deemed complete by the APCD. The links at the bottom of this page will take you to the Program Overview (please read this for additional details about the program) and the grant applications for the various project types. Applications must be submitted with original signature (no electronic submittals).
Eligible project categories include:
Off-Road Equipment Replacement Program (ERP): Replacements of construction equipment and tractors;
On-Road Fleet Modernization Program (Fleet Mod): Replacements of on-road heavy-duty trucks; and
Off-Road Repowers, Retrofits and Electrificationsof off-road equipment such as irrigation engines, tractors, and mobile construction equipment.
Trucks and off-road equipment to replace old models must be purchased from an approved dealer. See the APCD’s list of dealers below.
